Preparing for Advent

 Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ Jesus,

Pastors often tell you to pray more, read the Scriptures in your home, sing hymns, and carry God’s Word into your daily lives. And you should.

However, we must ask: Are you being taught how to read the Scriptures in your home, sing hymns, and incorporate God’s Word into your daily lives?

We will hold a brief class at Good Shepherd this Sunday, November 17, at 5:00 PM, to teach you how to do precisely this. 

We’ll even give you the tools and send you home with them. 

We’re doing this right before the Season of Advent because, historically, this has been the time when the Church increases its time of prayer and meditation on God’s Word. 

So come and join us this Sunday at 5:00 PM. Each household will receive a hymnal and Treasury of Daily Prayer. The children present will learn about the Advent wreath and be sent home with an Advent log, candles, and a Portals of Prayer for Kids. 

And before we depart, there will be time for fellowship and pizza!
