The Transfiguration of Our Lord

Transfiguration, Farewell to Alleluia, and the Sunday School Choir

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

This Sunday, we will observe the Transfiguration of our Lord. This festival of the Church brings the Epiphany season to a close. One feature of this Sunday’s service is how we say farewell to our “Alleluias” as they fall out of use until they return on Easter.

To help us say farewell to the Alleluias, the Sunday School choir will sing several times throughout the Sunday Divine Service. The children will sing the Introit, the Gradual, the Festival Alleluia before the Gospel, and during the offering.

It has been a joy to see the church’s children take a meaningful role in supporting the Divine Service; many of them are eager to participate. If you get a chance, please thank the church’s children for using their voices to lead us and sing praise to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

See you on Sunday!
Pastor Rogness
